Setting up my AVL Dobby loom

I am often asked about my weaving: "How long does it take you to make a scarf?"

Which is always a difficult one to answer as its a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question. It depends on the size of the scarf, the yarn im useing etc.

So my normal answer is to explain that, on adverage, I can weave about 3 meters a day, and its the setting up of the loom that takes a lot of time, and so because of that, I never put a warp on for just 1 scarf!

Anyway, I decided I'd make a little video to try and give you a small insight into the set up of the loom.

This isnt the whole lot, theres all the calculations, dyeing, warp winding and dressing of the loom that happens before this, but it hopefully gives you an idea!

This particular warp took me two days to set up in real time, but dont worry, ive compacted it down to just under 3 minutes!!

Enjoy! :)
