Small Scale Manufacturing in the Heart of Somerset

2020 was certainly a year to remember here at Fruitbat Textiles! Apart from the obvious, it saw the birth of a whole new side to our business in the form of small scale production for other brands.

As a small team, we can offer a very personal service that can be tailored individually to the needs of each and every client. Applying the same level of care, attention to detail and craftsmanship that we apply to our own products, we can produce a wide range of fashion and interiors products for your business. Perfectionists to the very end, you can be sure that your items will be treated with care and finished to the highest standard.

We offer no minimum order quantities, making us accessible for fellow small businesses. we can also help with technical and creative design advice, sampling, pattern making, grading, hand dyeing, product production and finishing services.

We can use materials you have sourced yourself or we can source them for you, within your specifications and in keeping with your brands ethos.

You will always be very welcome to come and visit the studio to discuss your initial plans and ideas with us, see where and how we work, get to see the progress of your items and even collect your finished products if you wish! We pride ourselves on being very open and honest with each of our clients!

Can't make it to the studio? That's not a problem either, we can organise a zoom call to give you all of the above virtually!

We've had the pleasure of working with some fantastic brands in the last few months and we are very excited to grow this side of the business further in 2021.

If you would like to know more or organise a meeting (either face to face or virtually) please feel free to get in touch:

Don't just take our word for it, see what our clients say about our manufacturing service:

"As a young, small business we were faced with a global pandemic in March 2020 and the choice to push forward or pack up. We chose to push forward, and this wouldn't have been possible without Charlotte. She took us from a 2 product brand to a multi-product brand.

Charlotte understands our business and her own ethos matches ours, making our working relationship so easy. In fact, I am proud to call her a friend, not just a colleague.

With high attention to detail and a methodical way of working, Charlotte has taken our brand to a higher level and we are so excited to continue working together and growing in the years to come"

Meet The Team

Charlotte started the business back in 2015 having graduated from UCA Farnham with a BA(Hons) in Textiles for Fashion and Interiors, specialised in woven textiles.

The manufacturing side of the business takes Charlotte back to where her dreams to work in textiles began, as a teenager learning to make garments at school and college. The technical understanding of fabrics, design and colour learned from her time at university give her a unique understanding of textiles during the production process and her mathematical brain lends itself well to pattern making and grading.

Charlotte’s passion for supporting British, sustainability and quality craftsmanship not only drive her passion for her own products, they also feed into her making for others, so you can be sure your products are in safe hands!

Steph joined the business in 2020 when it became apparent there was definitely a demand for work from small scale British manufacturing.

After graduating from Birmingham City university with a BA(Hons) in Fashion design with design for performance where she specialised in bridal design.

Steph followed her passion for bridal and has worked as a seamstress for five years (and still does and is available for bespoke work and alterations, just send us a message and we can get you in contact!).

Steph’s passion for bridal wear gives her yet another unique understanding and a natural eye for fit and flattering the female form through shape and clever design, making her the perfect addition to the manufacturing side of the business.

Steph’s skill with delicate and tricky fabrics, and ability to skilfully add intricate details with care and precision and her eye for draping and a more organic way of working combined with Charlotte’s technical understanding of fabric and patterns along with her methodical way of working makes for the perfect team here in our Somerset studio.

Our wide range of skills and understanding of textiles means we are able to undertake a wide range of projects and we can’t wait to welcome you and your brand!
